General Information

Cathariostachys madagascariensis is an evergreen bamboo with elongated, long-necked rhizomes. A spreading plant, it does not form a clump but has scattered, single canes that can be up to 15 metres tall and 50 - 80cm (occasionally to 120cm) in diameter. The woody canes are hollow, with moderately thin walls and internodes 40 - 60cm long[
