Siparuna croatii is an evergreen shrub or small tree, sometimes adopting a more liana-like habit; it usually grows around 3 - 8 metres tall[].
The plant is harvested from the wild for local use as a medicine.
Siparuna croatii has experienced a massive destruction of its habitat since the mid 20th century. The plant is classified as 'Vulnerable' in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species(2004)[].
