General Information

Sebastiania membranifolia is a semideciduous tree with a very narrow, elongated, sparse crown; it can grow 9 - 16 metres tall. The straight, almost cylindrical bole can be 25 - 45cm in diameter[].
The tree is sometimes harvested from the wild for local use of its wood. It can be grown to provide shelter from the wild and, with its very ornamental crown, it can be used in landscaping[].

Seed - best sown as soon as it is ripe in a sunny position in a nursery seedbed. A germination rate in excess of 50% can be expected, with the seed sprouting within 20 - 35 days[].
