Leptochilus decurrens is an evergreen fern growing from a short to medium-creeping rhizome; it forms small clumps of fronds, the fertile fronds have stipes around 14 - 50cm long whilst the stipes on sterile fronds can be absent or up to 18cm long with the ovate lamina 10 - 50cm long and 2.5 - 11cm wide[
