Lemaireocereus hollianus is a spiny, leafless, evergreen, columnar cactus with an erect stem that can be 4 - 5 metres tall and 5 - 7cm in diameter. Some plants are unbranched, others can produce branches from near the base
The plant is harvested from the wild for local use asa food. It is cultivated for use as a living fence[]..
Lemaireocereus hollianus is abundant and is managed in-situ, i.e. it is tolerated in agricultural lands and used as living fences. It occurs within a protected area and it has no major threats. The plant is classified as 'Least Concern' in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species(2017)[].
