Hoplestigma klaineanum is a tree growing up to 25 metres tall. The straight bole has buttresses, it can be up to 40cm in diameter[].
The tree is harvested from the wild for local use of its wood.

The heartwood is pale yellowish brown; it is indistinctly demarcated from the sapwood. It shows a silver-grain figure on quarter-sawn surfaces. The wood is medium-weight, it works easily and finishes nicely. It is used locally for carpentry and joinery[].

Seed - the germination rate is 20 - 30% after 30 - 45 days[].
