Dysoxylum fraserianum is an evergreen tree that can develop a dense, rounded crown in more open situations. At the higher limits of its range it can grow up to 40 metres tall in the rain forest, though at lower elevations and in more open positions it might be only half that height[
The tree has been extensively harvested from the wild for its beautiful and aromatic timber, which has been likened to mahogany. The wood is used locally and also traded. A very ornamental tree, it is suitable for growing in parks and large gardens[
