General Information

Buchanania macrocarpa is a tree growing around 6 - 39 metres tall. The straight bole can be free of branches for 20 - 26 metres, it is usually around 8 - 100cm in diameter, occasionally up to 200cm, sometimes with buttresses[, ].
The plant is harvested from the wild for local use as a medicine and source of materials. The wood is traded as a commercial timber in New Guinea[].
