Bikinia breynei is a tree that can grow 15 - 45 metres tall. The straight, cylindrical bole can be free of branches for 15 metres or more, in excess of 200cm in diameter, free of buttresses but sometimes with small feet[

The natural habitat of this species has been degraded throughout extensive conversion for agriculture and expansion of urban centres. The forest around Lake Ngaenke is seriously endangered because of overexploitation for charcoal and expansion of land conversion for agriculture.The plant is classified as 'Endangered' in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species(2013)[

Habitat
Abundant and dominant around lake Ngaenke (DR Congo), alternating with Gilbertiodendron breynei stands, in the narrow strip of forest around the lake; regeneration very abundant; in Gabon in evergreen forest (some scattered large trees)[
