In montane forests around 1,700 metres, the tree forms dominant patches with every inch their surface covered in mosses and ferns

In places the plant can't seem to make up it's mind whether to be a tree or a liane. Masses of huge winding and curling woody trunks and branches dominate certain parts of the forest at ca 1,700 metres on the mountain.
