Zanthoxylum kleinii is a semideciduous tree with a large, open, rounded crown, growing from 4 - 15 metres tall. The crooked bole often branches from low down, it can be 20 - 30cm in diameter[

Seed - best sown as soon as it is ripe in a partially shaded position in a nursery seedbed. A low germination rate can usually be expected, with the seed sprouting within 40 - 60 days[
