General Information

Cola cauliflora is a straggling shrub or a small tree, usually growing from 1.2 - 5 metres tall, occasionally to 9 metres. In larger specimens the bole can be unbranched for 6 metres and 50cm in diameter[, ].
The tree is harvested from the wild for local use of its wood.
The plant has a limited area of distribution and could be threatened by habitat degradation and felling, although it has not been classified by IUCN as yet[].

It is suitable for carpentry and construction[].
