General Information

Xyris capensis is a perennial plant with grass-like stems growing from a more or less creeping rhizome.
The plant is sometimes gathered from the wild for local use in weaving mats.

Through most of tropical Africa, tropical Asia to Papua New Guinea. Also found in S. America - Brazil.
