General Information

Vitex novae-pommeraniae is a tree usually growing from 7 - 27metres tall, occasionally reaching 34 metres. The straight, cylindrical bole is usually up to 80cm in diameter, rarely up to 120cm, it is without buttresses and can be free of branches for up to 15 metres[, ].
The tree is harvested from the wild for local use of its wood.
Vitex novae-pommeraniae is only known from about eight localities and these are all under threat of deforestation
and habitat destruction. The plant is classified as 'Vulnerable' in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species(2021)[].
