Common Name: Oak-Leaved Papaya

General Information

Oak-leaved papaya is an evergreen small tree with an irregular, sparse crown, or, more commonly, a shrub growing from 4 - 8 metres tall[, , ]. It has a solid, but not truly woody, bole up to 60cm in diameter[, ].
The edible fruits are usually gathered from the wild for local use[]. The tree is occasionally cultivated for its fruit[].

Cultivation Details

A plant of the moderate to high elevations in the tropics, it can also be grown in subtropical and warm temperate areas. It can survive occasional frost to -5°c so long as the soil is fairly dry[].

Propagation
