Urceola torulosa is an evergreen climbing shrub
The plant is a source of a good quality rubber. At one time there was interest in exploiting the plant commercially but, with the cultivation of the Brazil rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis) and then the discovery of synthetic rubber, interest in virtually all other rubber plants ceased[
