The wood is pinkish brown throughout, occasionally with pale yellow patches and fine, dark brown streaks. Odourless and tasteless; straight-grained; fairly fine-textured; moderately heavy and strong; not difficult to work, takes a smooth polish, and holds its place well when finished; probably durable453].
