Talbotiella gentii is endemic to Ghana, where habitat degradation and loss caused by clear-cutting of the forest, agriculture and human settlement are ongoing threats. The plant now exists in small stands in rocky areas of dry forest, most of its habitat having been destroyed. The plant is classified as 'Critically Endangered' in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species[
