General Information

Simira glaziovii is a semideciduous tree with a fairly dense, roundish crown; it can grow 6 - 12 metres tall. The slightly crooked bole can be 20 - 30cm in diameter[].
The tree is sometimes harvested from the wild for local use of its low value wood, which is also probably the source of a dye tha is used commercially. It can be grown as a pioneer species when restoring native woodland.

Propagation

Seed - best sown as soon as it is ripe in a partially shaded position in a nursery seedbed. A low germination rate can be expected, with the seed sprouting within 70 - 90 days[].
