General Information

Senna leandrii is a tree growing up to 10 metres tall[].
The plant is harvested from the wild for local use as a medicine.
The natural habitat of Senna leandrii is being reduced in several ways, mainly by its conversion into shifting agriculture, by grazing, quarrying and by fire. However, with its wide distribution and several subpopulations occurring in seven protected areas the threats are not significant enough to impact upon the species survival. The plant is classified as 'Least Concern' in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species(2019)[].
