General Information

Salvertia convallariodora is a deciduous tree with a dense, globose crown; it can grow 10 - 18 metres tall. The usually crooked bole can be 30 - 40cm in diameter with a corky, fissured bark[].
The tree is sometimes harvested from the wild for local use of its wood. It can be used as a pioneer species for restoring native woodland, especially in the drier areas. An ornamental plant with heavily scented flowers, it can be used in landscaping, mainly for squares and avenues[].
