General Information

Pseudobombax tomentosum is a deciduous tree with a sparse, roundish crown; it can grow 4 - 10 metres tall. The short, cylindrical bole is 30 - 40cm in diameter with a thick, ridged bark[].
The tree is harvested from the wild as a local source of fibre and wood.

Propagation

Seed - best sown as soon as it is ripe in a sunny position in a nursery seedbed. A germination rate of less than 50% can be expected, with the seed sprouting within 14 - 21 days[].
