Protium glaucum is a tree with a spreading crown; it can grow up to 9 metres tall. The straight, cylindrical bole branches from quite low down; it is around 20cm in diameter[].
The tree is harvested from the wild for local use of its wood, which is only employed as a fuel.

We have no specific information for this species, but many members of this genus are valued for the whitish and fragrant resin (suggesting incense) that exudes freely from the bark, and which hardens upon exposure to the air[].

The heartwood is a dark brown; it is clearly demarcated from the light, pinkish-brown or pale yellowish sapwood that darkens upon exposure to air. The texture is medium; the grain straight. The wood is medium weight, fairly durable. It is not difficult to work; easy to cut but saws slightly wooly; and takes a moderately smooth polish[].
The wood is only used for fuel[].
