The heartwood is yellowish to light brown; it is not distinctly demarcated from the sapwood. The texture is coarse; the grain is straight; there is no distinctive taste or aroma. The wood is light in weight, soft, porous, non-elastic; it is not very durable and is susceptible to blue stain in humid conditions. It works easily but does not finish well because of its rough texture. It is used for the manufacture of boxes and paper pulp[
