Pilosocereus arrabidae is a spiny, succulent, shrubby columnar cactus with a short bole; it can grow around 1 - 4 metres tall, branching from near the base with straight stems around 5 - 9cm in diameter. The plant is clothed in stiff spines 15 - 40mm long[
