General Information

Paranephelium macrophyllum is an evergreen tree, though occasionally only shrub-like - it can grow up to 12 metres tall. The bole can be 10 - 40cm in diameter, occasionally to 60cm[].
The tree is harvested from the wild for local use as a medicine and source of oil.

Habitat

Open, secondary forest and evergreen scrub, along rivers, in plains, more rarely on rocks or hills; growing on a rich soil, often on limestone; at elevations from sea level up to 300 metres[].
