General Information

Oxandra espintana is an evergreen shrub or a tree growing around 2 - 30 metres tall. The trunk can be 5 - 60cm in diameter[].
The plant is harvested from the wild for local use as a food, medicine and source of wood.
Oxandra espintana has a wide range and is found in many different locations. The plant is classified as 'Least Concern' in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species(2020)[].
