General Information

Luetzelburgia trialata is a deciduous tree growing 5 - 15 metres tall[].
The tree is probably harvested from the wild for local use of its wood. The flowers of Luetzelburgia species appear en masse before the plant comes into leaf, making the floral display quite conspicuous and colourful, giving the genus a potential ornamental value[].
The species is known from only three small populations in the adjacent areas of the severely fragmented Atlantic rainforest. The plant is classified as 'Critically Endangered' in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species(2013)[].
