Licuala radula is an evergreen palm with short stems up to 70cm tall and 2.5cm in diameter; the stems are topped by a crown of fan-shaped leaves with petioles up to 80cm long and leaf blades up to 100cm wide. The erect inflorescences are up to 80cm long[
