General Information

Lavandula gibsonii is an evergreen perennial plant with the stems often becoming more or less woody, especially near the base. It usually grows around 30 - 40cm tall, though can reach 100cm[].
The plant has insecticidal properties.
Lavandula gibsonii is threatened by a decline in the quality of its habitat owing to growing urbanization within its range. But the species is not severely fragmented and no population decline is confirmed. The plant is classified as 'Near Threatened' in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species(2023)[].
