Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, México, D.F.. However, in some works, including the on-line version of the Flora do Brasil, Lacmellea lactescens is treated as a distinct species[

General Information

Lacmellea lactescens is a tree. The bole is armed with conical spines.
The tree is harvested from the wild for the local use of its edible fruit and latex.
Lacmellea edulis has a very wide distribution, large population, is not currently experiencing any major threats and no significant future threats have been identified. The plant is classified as 'Least Concern' in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species(2019)[
