Hydriastele procera is a solitary stemmed, robust, evergreen palm with an unbranched stem up to 30 metres tall and 20 - 30cm in diameter; it is topped by a spherical crown of 10 - 15 leaves, each of which can be 2 - 4 metres long including the petiole[
