It can be used in combination with the leaves of bois d'osto (Antirhea borbonica) to make a herbal tea that is effective in treating gastritis and stomach ulcers.The leaves can also be used to treat venous circulation disorders and diabetes.
Used externally as a wash or as a powder, the leaves are used in the treatment of babies' nappy rash[
