General Information

Hirtella glandulosa is a semideciduous tree with a low, wide-spreading, dense crown. It usually grows 10 - 25 metres tall, but is only 3 - 5 metres tall in the south of its range. The short bole is more or less cylindrical, around 40 - 60cm in diameter[

Propagation

Seed - best sown as soon as it is ripe in a sunny position in a nursery seedbed. Because of the difficulty in separating the seeds, the whole fruit can be sown. A low germination rate can be expected, with the seed sprouting within 20 - 40 days[
