Useful Tropical Plants

Heliopsis buphthalmoides

(Jacq.) Dunal

Asteraceae

We are following the treatment in Pruski, J.F. (ed.) (2018). Flora Mesoamericana 5(2): 1-608. Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, México, D.F., which treats Acmella oppositifolia (Lam.) R.K.Jansen as a synonym of Heliopsis buphthalmoides. However, other authorities such as Roskov Y. & al. (eds.) (2018). Species 2000 & ITIS Catalogue of Life Naturalis, Leiden, the Netherlands, accept Acmella oppositifolia as a distinct species
