General Information

Gonystylus borneensis is a tree that can grow 24 - 35 metres tall. The straight bole is slightly fluted at the base and has low buttresses; it can be up to 60cm in diameter.
The tree is harvested from the wild for its wood, which is a minor source of ramin timber. The trees are more likely to be utilized locally, although larger specimens will be harvested commercially and sold collectively as ramin timber along with wood from other species in the gennus.
