General Information

Euphorbia lacei is a spiny, evergreen, succulent plant looking rather like a cactus. The leaves are very short-liked, the plant photosynthesizing by means of its succulent, green stems. It grows as a shrub or small tree, sometimes up to 5 metres tall, and often adopting a candelabra-like shape[].
The plant is harvested from the wild for local medicinal use. It is fairly commonly cultivated for ornamental purposes and as a hedge[].
