General Information
Eleocharis dulcis is a tufted, perennial rush-like plant with stems 50 - 200cm tall. The plant has short rhizomes and elongated stolons, most of these terminated by a globose tuber.
The plant is harvested from the wild for local use as a food, medicine and source of materials. It is widely cultivated for its edible tubers in China, there are some named varieties[

Propagation
Seed - we have no details for this species but suggest sowing the seed as soon as it is ripe in a container in a nursery. Only just cover the seed and place the pot in 3cm of water to keep the soil wet. When they are large enough to handle, prick the seedlings out into individual pots and grow them on in the nursery until large enough to plant out.
