General Information

Dimocarpus dentatus is a tree usually growing up to 15 metres tall, but exceptionally to 24 metres. The bole is up to 40cm in diameter, sometimes with buttresses[].
The edible fruit is gathered from the wild for local use.

Habitat

Primary, sometimes secondary forests, in dry as well as in periodically inundated or marshy localities, on various but preferably rather rich soils: usually from sea level to 100 metres, but exceptionally to 750 metres[].
