General Information

Diheteropogon amplectens is a perennial grass growing up to 2 metres tall. The grass grows in small tussocks, often with underground scaly shoots at the base[].
The plant is harvested from the wild for local use in weaving and thatching.

Grassland, often on shallow soils on stony hill slopes, and on poor sandy soils in savannah and deciduous bushland, at elevations up to 1,800 metres[]. Open forest, grassland and marshy areas in rocky, sandy and clay soils[].

Cultivation Details
