Cynometra abrahamii is threatened by deforestation due to annual wildfire and selective wood harvesting. Although it is predicted to decline, it is a widespread species that has a large extent of occurrence and is present within protected areas. The plant is therefore classified as 'Least Concern' in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species(2013)[
