General Information

Croton lindquistii is a shrub or a small tree, usually growing around 5 - 7 metres tall with a slender, straight trunk up to 10cm in diameter. The plant is drought-deciduous, loosing its leaves during dry periods[].
An economically important tree in its native range, where it is extensively harvested from the wild for its wood, which is used for fencing.
Croton lindquistii is threatened mainly by the potential decline of habitat quality, due to the change of land use in the last years. In addition, it has been extensively harvested for its straight, hard, and durable trunks. However, there are still some areas where the plants are frequent and the taxon also has a wide distribution. The plant is classified as 'Least Concern' in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species(2019)[].
