Other Uses
The wood is light brown, sometimes with purplish-brown veins; it is not demarcated from the sapwood. The texture is medium; the grain straight. The wood is light in weight, soft; not very durable, being susceptible to fungi, dry wood borers and termites. It seasons rapidly with only a low risk of checking or distortion; once dry it is moderately stable in service. The wood works well with ordinary tools; nailing and screwing are good, but require pre-boring; gluing is correct. It is used for a range of purposes, including light carpentry, panelling, joinery, boxes and crates, furniture, veneer and laminates[
