General Information

Caryodendron janeirense is a deciduous tree with a dense, pyramidal crown; it can grow 7 - 16 metres tall. The cylindrical bole can be 20 - 30cm in diameter[].
The tree is sometimes harvested from the wild for local use of its low quality wood.

Seed - best sown as soon as it is ripe in a partially shaded position in a nursery seedbed. A germination rate of less than 50% can be expected, with the seed sprouting within 30 - 50 days[].
