Beilschmiedia sikkimensis is found at low to moderate elevations in the Indian Himalayas, possibly to 2,400 metres. It should succeed outdoors in subtropical to warm temperate regions.

The wood is light-gray to brownish-white in colour. The grain is close and even, the wood soft. It takes a smooth surface when planing. It is used in construction, making crates etc, which is the best use to which the wood could be put. It is unlikely to repay the costs of export[
