General Information

Argomuellera macrophylla is a usually unbranched shrub or small tree, usually growing up to 4 metres tall but occasionally to 9 metres[].
The plant is sometimes gathered from the wild for local medicinal use.

Known Hazards

In Kenya the honey from the flowers is considered to be poisonous, causing joint problems[].

Tropical Africa - Sierra Leone to Ethiopia and Kenya, south to Angola, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique.

Habitat

Forest undergrowth, often in drier types of forest in west Africa whilst in East Africa it is often in riverine forest and dry evergreen lakeshore forest; at elevations up to 1,300 metres, occasionally to 1,850 metres[].
