General Information

Annona herzogii is a shrub or a tree that can grow up to 20 metres tall[].
The plant is harvested from the wild for local use as a food.
Annona herzogii is known from 26 different locations and, although there is habitat degredation in much of its range, the species is not thought to be at direct threat. The plant is classified as 'Least Concern' in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species(2021)[].

Fruit - raw[]. A tasty fruit, with the shape and consistency of the cherimoya (Annona cherimola)[]. The yellow, globose to very broadly ovoid fruit is 15 - 25mm long and 18 - 30mm in diameter, composed of 10 - 40 carpels with seeds up to 8mm x 4mm[].
