General Information

Amanoa guianensis is an evergreen tree with a more or less pyramidal crown; it can grow 8 - 15 metres tall. The cylindrical bole can be 30 - 40cm in diameter[].
The tree is sometimes harvested from the wild for local use of its wood.

The wood is used for fuel and to make charcoal[].

Propagation

Seed - best sown as soon as it is ripe in a partially shaded position in a nursery seedbed. A germination rate in excess of 60% can be expected, with the seed sprouting within 180 days[].
