Succeeds in full sun to moderate shade[
]. Prefers a moist, fertile, clayey soil[
Young plants have a moderate rate of growth[
Trees can flower almost all year round[
The plant (part not specified) is used in the treatment of haemorrhages[
The wood is medium-textured, uniform, moderately heavy, with moderate mechanical properties and not very durable. Because of its small size it is only used for purposes such as light cabinet making and tool handles[
The wood is used for fuel and to make charcoal[
Seed - best sown as soon as it is ripe in a sunny position in a nursery seedbed. Sow them on the surface of the soil and then water them copiously but carefully to bury them into the top layer of the soil without washing them away. A low germination rate can usually be expected, with the seed sprouting within 30 - 40 days[
]. When the seedlings are 4 - 5cm tall, pot them up into individual containers and they should be ready to plant out 6 - 7 months later[
