Salvia divinorum is a

Cultivated by the Mazateca Indians in Oaxaca on secret places in the forests. Probably a true cultigen (only vegetative reproduction). The leaves are used by the Indians as a psychotropic and hallucinogenic drug for inducing divinatory visions. Mostly infusions of the leaves are applied, also smoked.
